Get to know your Healer
Aside from my traditional schooling in psychotherapy, I have had the privilege to formally study under an indigenous healer/curandera/ictuchu for over 4 years, and receive ongoing teachings in this practice about every 6 months or so. Growing up in an indigenous community in southern coastal (what is now) Mexico, sparked one of my passions of helping people find a healthy balance of their experiences in mind, body, and spirit.
My blended approach of healing practices, weaving together the best parts of therapy and shaman/curandera/ictuchu approaches, help my clients reconnect with their cultural/ancestral roots. Clients also learn tools to help establish values, and build a foundation of intentional framework, that can be used as a guide when experiencing the world in and around them.
I believe in a truly holistic approach to healing that is grounded in person-centered, culturally sensitive, indigenous framework, and of a systematic perspective. As a multilingual/multicultural, chronically-ill, gender diverse, Indigi-queer therapist and healer, I am deeply committed to providing authentic healing services for individuals with diverse identities in both English and Spanish. I enjoy providing psychoeducation and healing workshops for various communities in striving to destigmatize mental health.
My experience includes working with the Queer/Trans community, multilingual communities, intersectional identity issues, acculturation/cultural stress, chronically-ill and different-abled community, energy balance, reconnecting natives/indigenous folks, identity development, and the Latinx/e community.
